Muriel Miller, 90, of Safety Harbor, FL died on July 3, 2012 at Brookside Hospice House in Palm Harbor, FL.
She was born on February 8, 1922 in Buffalo, NY and grew up in Erie, PA and she was the daughter of John and Frieda (Lueth) Kalwa. She lived in Erie all of her life and was raised by her Aunt and Uncle, Henry and Emma Lueth Lindsay, after the death of her mother. She had worked at the Keystone Brass, Bird Plastic and Inanes Manufacturing. Muriel was a life member of the Sunflower Club and belonged to the Siebenburger Club Ladies Auxiliary. She also bowled in the Tuesday Night Ladies League. She loved music and had sung in the church choir and taught Sunday School. She also loved crocheting, knitting, golf, bingo and bunko. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 38th and State Street in Erie.
She is preceded in death by a husband, John Miller Jr.; daughter, Gay Lynn Miller; a son, Robert Miller; a sister, Ruth Hierl; a grandson, Richard Miller; 5 Kalwa brothers; Richard, Frederick, John, Carl, Henry and William; two Lindsay brothers, Raymond and Wilford. She is survived ; a daughter, Shirley Miller of Jamestown, NY; a son, Raymond Miller and wife, Donna of Safety Harbor, FL; two grandsons: Raymond Miller of Georgia and Russell Miller of Florida; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services are Friday, 1:30 PM, July 13, 2012 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida 33744 with Pastor Howard Druitz, to officiate.

You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom. I hadn’t seen her since they moved South to be closer to all of you. I know she was excited about it and from what you have written from time to time I guess she really enjoyed it down there and it was good that they both had you to look out for them at a time when they really needed it. I will be thinking of you.
I’m really glad the kids and I got to see Grandma a couple weeks before she passed. We’re sad she’s gone but happy to know she is in a better place. We’ll miss her dearly and always remember her positive attitude and her willingness to fight to the end.
