Nellie R. Holley, 86 of Clearwater, FL passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Sabal Palms Health Care Center, Largo.
Born in Union, SC she moved here from Greenville, SC in 1965 where she worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. She worked locally as a purchasing agent for GTR International. She was an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church, Clearwater and she enjoyed politics, the news, and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Hallie (Wofford) Campbell and husband, James Henry Holley. Survivors include her son, Ted Suratt and daughter, Bonnie DeLorie, both of Clearwater; brother, Rev. L.R. Campbell, Jr. of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Shirley Yarborough of Statesville, NC and Corrine Smith of Greer, SC; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1PM on Friday, March 30th at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell with Rev. Branson Rogers officiating.

Love always Nellie Ruth. I’m sure you’ve already scoped out a favorite pew and chair. Just remember, the BIG GUY gets that REALLY big one with all those Angel types around it. I’m pretty sure despite your arguments, He won’t budge on that. Give Mom and Henry a hug from all of us.
Oh what a welcome you received when you arrived home! I know that all of our loved ones were lined up awaiting their turn to welcome you and show you all of the wonders they have seen! You certainly were a take charge person and thank God for it! You had such a love for others around you that were in need. Others may not know how much you cared, how much you did or how much you loved but I know. They say behind every great man is a great woman and you certainly were. You may not have had a “soft and gentle way” about you like our sweet Uncle Henry but your heart was always in the right place. Thank you for all that you did for me and my family. Thank you for loving me and taking care of me when I was too young to care for myself.For sharing your family, food, home and love so freely and for caring when others turned their heads. Mom loved you like a sister and I will love you forever and always for the person you were. Thank you for loving me and showing such kindness. I will miss you my sweet Aunt Nellie Ruth but am so happy and thankful to know that we will be together again one day!
