Walden, Nelson E., 85, of Largo, FL, passed away at home on October 30, 2009.
Born in Lakewood, Illinois he was a resident of Pinellas County since 1951. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Norma (Palmer), two daughters, Carol (Joe) Treshler and Christine Kelley and preceded in death by his son, Kenneth. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren, Melinda, Kristen, Courtney, Bryan, Patrick, Meagan, Brendan, Timothy, Lauren and Caitlin and six great grand children, Zachary, Dylan, Jadon, Connor, Keira and Olivia.
Nelson served in the Navy during WWII. Nelson was the founder of Garden & Hardware Distributors in 1961, an avid golfer he was a long time member of Seminole Lake Country Club and a collector of antique cars.
Graveside services will be at 10AM on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Bay Pines, FL 33744. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Veteran’s Funeral Care. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sallie House, c/o Salvation Army, 340 14th Avenue South, St. Petersburg, FL 33701.
