I met you in high school and had several classes with you. My memories of you are as a kind, fun loving young lady with a heart of gold. God Bless you and your family. I have always believed that a person never really dies as long as their memories are kept alive, but rather have just moved on to where we cannot just reach you except in our prayers.
Phoebe may you rest in peace, no more pain and suffering. Know you will be missed by classmates, especially by India. She loved you like a sister.
I will miss you my friend.
Phoebe reminded me, when writing in my CHS60 annual, that she and I came to Clearwater at the same time, 8th grade, 1955. “We were both so scared”, she wrote. I have never forgotten Phoebe and her sweet 8th grade kindness to a fellow “transplant”. Phoebe is, I believe, in possession of an “old soul” having been around for many generations. She was mature and empathic beyond her years. I sincerely believe her soul will remain with us for generations to come. After all, love is eternal!
I, too, moved to Florida in 1955. I remember Phoebe as the most elegant teenager I had ever seen. I admired her carriage so much. No one could have convinced me that she was ever nervous or scared. I imagined her becoming a fashion model in New York. We were not friends in high school, but we became friends later in life when I moved back to Florida, and India would get us all together when she was in town. I’m so happy I got to know Phoebe and will remember her forever.
I met Phoebe in high school and have been in touch with her off and on throughout the years. For a while she was a part of our girls night out group of High school friends. I enjoyed catching up with her at the last CHS Class of ’60 reunion. She was always so graceful and lovely with a little bit of southern accent to add to her charm. I pray for her family to remember the good times as this must be a blow to you all.
