Veterans Funeral Care Rene' Boulay

Rene’ Andrew Boulay, 84, of Clearwater, FL passed away on Monday, October 6, 2008 at home.

Born in Fall River, Mass., he moved here from Chevy Chase, MD in 1979. He graduated from George Washington University in Washington, DC in 1950 where he did his graduate work in History and Political Science. He retired from the National Security Agency after 30 years as a cryptologist and intelligence officer, serving a tour in the National Military Command Center and as an instructor in the National Cryptological School. He worked for several years at the Clearwater Beach Bank and later ran a branch Post Office in Clearwater. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and landed on D-Day at Utah Beach with the 4th Division for which the unit was awarded the Distinguished Unit Citation and served at the French Croix de Guerre. He served in five campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge. Between 1990 and 1997, he had published three books on the origin of dragons.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary M.; daughter, Margaret C. “Peg” Boulay of Eugene, OR; son David C. of Clearwater.
