Rev. Curtis Cheer, 59 of Dunedin, FL, entered into eternal peace on Friday, January 24, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 21, 1954 in Earle, Arkansas to the late Joe and Virginia Cheers. He served in the U.S. Army earning the rank of Sergeant. He served as Associate Minister at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Clearwater, FL
Curtis is survived by his wife of 23 years, Frankie Cheer; four sons, Curtis Cheer, Jr., Samuel Murphy, Andrew Cheer, and Joseph Cheer; his two daughters, Denise Cheer and Marissa Cheer; two sisters, Joanne Nicks and Calmus "Jean" Smith; and three grandchildren, Nakia Cheer, Makayla Cheer, and Samuel Murphy Jr.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 3 – 5 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 1012 Pennsylvania Avenue, Clearwater, 33755 with Rev. Dr. William F. Sherman officiating and eulogy by Rev. Milton Nicks. A celebration of his life will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 3rd with interment and military honors at 1:00 PM presented by the American Legion Kirby Stewart Post #24 at Sarasota National Cemetery.
