Rev. Frank E. Chilton, 84, of Largo, FL, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park.
Born in Dayton, OH he moved to Florida from Des Plaines, IL in 1979. He was raised on a farm in Selma, IN, worked on a ranch in Eureka, CA, and was a salesman for Sears & Roebuck. He owned and operated Chilton’s Floor Covering in Largo and was ordained from the diocesan offices in Jacksonville, FL in 1997. He was a drummer and enjoyed woodworking and entertaining.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Martha; 4 daughters, Connie (Ray) Brinker of Columbus, IN, Gale (Larry) Baertschi of Seminole, FL, Suzanne (Ron) Bittinger of Lawrenceville, VA and Kimberly (Leland) Hughes of DeRidder, LA; 2 brothers, Thomas (Jeannie) of Largo, FL and Bernard (Janelle) of Dunnellon, FL; a sister, Patricia Odle, of Greely, CO; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lestie, and his sister, Edna Mae Morgan.
Visitation will be 4-6 PM on Tues., Aug. 10th at St. Dunstan Anglican Church, 403 1st Avenue SW, Largo. Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM on Wed., Aug. 11th.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Hospice House Woodside for their compassion and loving care of Frank.

My daughter, Olivia, and I loved Fr. Frank so much. He was such a dear, loving and caring man and was always so sweet and patient when Olivia was little. All of us at St. Mark’s are blessed to have know both Fr. Frank and his beautiful wife, Martha.
I’ll always remember Fr Frank in a very loving way. He treated my mother with such respect and gave her such a beautiful and touching buril servce. But Frank was so friendly and fun loving when he was involved in golfing activities. My condolances to Martha and the rest of the family.
My prayers and thoughts go out to You, Aunt Martha and all of your family. Uncle Frank was a fun loving man and I know he will be missed greatly.
