Veterans Funeral Care Richard Duckett

Richard B. Duckett, 79, of St. Petersburg, died May 5, 2002 at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in Washington D.C., he came here in 1981 from New York. He attended the Naval Academy and George Washington University. During WWII while a pilot in Bombing Squadron 18 on the U.S.S. Intrepid he was awarded the Navy?s highest decoration, the Navy Cross, for action against the enemy at Leyte Gulf in the Philippines. After the war he was a senior partner in the Kelly Mortgaging Company in Washington, D.C. and subsequently was involved in commercial real estate in Washington, Atlanta and Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Lemeau Arrott-Watt Duckett, 2 sons, Richard Duckett & Allen Duckett, 3 daughters, Mary Josephine Duckett, Kristie Drews, Jan Duckett, 1 sister, Helen Louise Waller, and 6 grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 10:45 am Friday, May 10, 2002 at Bay Pines National Cemetery. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
