Born November 6, 1931, died April 12, 2010 at age 78 from a long bout with cancer. Richard has been a resident of Dixie County since 1988. Survivors include: his wife Winifred Patterson; children: Daniel Patterson, Richard H. Patterson, Jr., Debra A. Waters of Old Town, and Beverly Townsend of St. Petersburg, FL, twenty grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Burial services will be held at the United States Coast Guard Station Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Funeral arrangements are conducted by Veteran’s Funeral Care, Clearwater, FL. He was loved by many people, family and friends.
