Ricky Gene “Rick” Durham, 59, of Brooksville, FL passed away Thursday October 31st 2013.
He is survived by his wife Christine; mother Patsy; two brothers Terry and Randy; two sons Gerald and Kyle; and one grandson Tucker. Along with many other loving extended family members and friends.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army. After discharge, he worked in the construction industry for 30 years. He was best known as a jack of all trades. Able to fix just about anything.
His lifelong hobbies included auto racing, boating, and spending as much time as possible with his family and friends.
Known for dancing to his own tune he will be remembered for all of his unique and interesting attributes. His good-natured and off the wall humor always kept conversations interesting.
Living a true “one man’s junk is another man’s treasure” lifestyle, Rick will always be remembered for his unconventional yard ornaments. He had a keen eye for seeing the potential in things. Unafraid to do a little work to make something great again.
In addition, he was well known for his inherent aptitude for sales. His sons will always know him as the ultimate wheeler-and-dealer. His sons are honored to have so much of his knowledge passed down to them before his passing.
He was a devoted father and husband. He will always be admired for his strength. Even in his last days he put his family before himself. No words can express the pain that accompanies the loss his family and friends are experiencing. His memory will be cherished by all that knew him.
A Military Honors Service will be held at 2:15PM on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at the Bay Pines National Cemetery in Bay Pines, FL.
