Bob was just ahead of me in the family…very bright, very assertive, very loyal. He was always able to hold his own in conversations at the family dinner table, arguing fiercely, intelligently. It was said humorously that he had prenatal memory! We were close growing up and I shall miss him, even though I haven’t seen him for along time.
I can remember coming to visit the Mcdonald family in Tennessee and taking turns riding the mini bike. My parents came out and told us that we were going tooooo fast. When they went back in Uncle Bob came out and said to rev that engine back up!!! WE loved him! I know how much you will miss him. My thought and prayers are with your family at this time of sorrow.
I had the good fortune to be able to visit Bob and Barbara several years ago, after many years separation. I also saw several cousins whom I had not seen for at least 25 years and introduce my daughter, Julia, to them and to several others of the new generation. I enjoyed the several email exchanges I had with Bob, and regret that has ended. My best to Barbara and to my cousins and their families. We’re saddened by Bob’s death but celebrate his life and legacy.
