Robert (Bob) F. Reinshagen, 92, of Palm Harbor, FL passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013. Born on 3/27/21 in Ridgewood, NJ, he was the son of Hans E. and Lillian Bowles Reinshagen and attended schools in Waldwick and Ramsey New Jersey. He spent 4 years in the Army Air Corps during WWII, two years in India and numerous other locations. He was discharged in March 1945.

Robert is survived by his wife of 67 years, Juanita Reeves. They have two children, Donald E. Reinshagen (Glenda) of Romulus, NY and Karen Reinshagen Lewis (William), The Villages, FL. Three grandchildren: Dirk H. Reinshagen (Bellevue, WA), Kara L. Reinshagen (Boston, MA), Jessica H. McNulty (Cohasset, MA). Three step grand children: Mark, Graham and Britt Lewis. Three great granddaughters: Adelaide, Marlena, and Harper. Four step great granddaughters: Miska, Tamia, Meli and Maya. 

Robert was one of five children. He was predeceased by sister Ida Vanderhoff Grech and brothers Ernie and Fred (Barbara) Reinshagen. He has one living sister, Lillian Sanford of Haverhill, MA.

His life work was with Bendix and Amphenol as a quality control engineer for 35 years. Moving from the family farm in Davenport, the family moved to Otego in 1955. Robert (Bob) was very active and held governing positions in the Otego United Methodist Church, Otego Rotary, Fire Department, American Legion, and Otego Town Board. Robert and Juanita hosted many Rotary foreign exchange students while living in Otego.

Robert was an avid, outstanding carpenter and magnificent gardener. They were true life passions for him. The Otego United Methodist Church still displays a lighted cross he crafted and made for them almost 50 years ago. Robert and Juanita retired and moved to Palm Harbor, FL in 1986 where they lived for more than 26 years and were active members of the East Lake Methodist Church.

Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family in Palm Harbor, FL and New York with graveside services and interment at Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Seneca County-Waterloo, NY.  Memorial contributions may be made to East Lake United Methodist Church, 2801 East Lake Road, Palm Harbor, FL 34685.
