Robert “Bob” John Hahn, Sr., 83, of Tarpon Springs, FL passed away on July 12, 2014.
Born on August 12, 1930 in Kearney, NJ to Albert and Mary Hahn, Bob grew up in North Arlington, NJ and graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, NJ, in 1947. He served in the Korean War from 1951-54 earning the rank of Airman First Class in the 92nd Bomb Wing of the Strategic Air Command. Bob received the Good Conduct and the National Defense Service Medals. Using the GI Bill, Bob graduated in 1958 from St. Peter’s College with a BS in Economics. After graduation, Bob worked, over 40 years at RCA as a purchasing agent specialist in both Harrison, NJ and, later, Lancaster, PA.
Bob married Ms. Mary Ellen Epperson on April 25, 1959 in North Arlington, NJ. They were happily married for 50 years. Bob was a loving and wonderful father and very active in the lives of his family. He always gave to others. He was a volunteer coach and umpire for youth sports for many years. For the past 5 years, besides being a cherished father, Bob volunteered at Suncoast Hospice serving fellow veterans.
Bob is survived by three children: Dr. Anna E. Weaver and husband, Mr. Louis Weaver of Tarpon Springs, FL; Mr. Robert J. Hahn, Jr. of Lancaster, PA; and Dr. James P. Hahn and his husband, Mr. Stephen E. Coady of Quincy, MA; daughter-in-law, Ms. Judy Fulginiti of Lancaster, PA; and grandchildren: Samantha and Matthew of Lancaster, PA; Timothy of Pittsburgh, PA; and Kimmi and Andrew of Tarpon Springs, FL.
On November 3, 2008, Bob was preceded in death by his bride, Mary Ellen Epperson Hahn.
A memorial service will be held on August 16, 2014 at 2 pm at Cycadia Cemetery, Tarpon Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast with special attention to the Veterans Program. http://www.thehospice.org/Veterans-Program.

What a lovely tribute. Made us feel like we knew him personally. You have lots of wonderful memories to sustain you. It’s always hard to lose a parent, whatever our age. Comforting thoughts to you all.
