Veterans Funeral Care Robert Wright

Robert Louis Wright passed on August 4, 2010 at South Tampa Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tampa, Florida.

Robert, the son of Joseph and Laura, was born in Omaha, Nebraska on April 25, 1920. He enlisted in the Armed Services in 1939, serving the National Guard, United States Army and the United States Air Force, until his retirement as SSgt Wright in 1962. After service to his country, Robert was a Correction Specialist and Counselor with the New York Department of Corrections until he retired to Florida in 1979. During Robert’s retirement years, he remained active as a volunteer at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital. He was also active with Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 1655 and 4312, where he served as Commander for both posts.

He is survived by his wife Sara Leighliter Wright.

Military Honors will be conducted at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL at 10 AM on Friday, August 13, 2010.
