Dad’s Obit
ENC Robert ”Bob” Patterson Bergeron, 80, of Pinellas Park passed away of natural causes at his home on April 24, 2012. Bob was a loyal, honest and hard-working man, who was devoted to his family.
Bob was born in Northhampton, Massachusetts on April 30, 1931 to Ovila and Louella Patterson Bergeron.
A 22 year veteran of the United States Coast Guard having served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, Bob retired in 1969 having reached the rank of Chief and having earned 4 Good Conduct Awards during his military career. Upon retirement from the military, Bob worked for many years as a machine operator, retiring in 1994 after a 25 year career with Southern Culvert Manufacturing.
Bob was an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars
Survivors include his second wife, Melanie Grace Bergeron of Pinellas Park, his 6 Children – Cynthia Mooers of Milton, New Hampshire; Dawn Begley of Leicester, North Carolina; Sandra Wright of St. Petersburg, Florida; Robert Bergeron of Apollo Beach, Florida; Richard Bergeron of Largo, Florida; Carl Bergeron of Washington, DC and their spouses; 12 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.
Bob was predeceased by his first Wife Mary Joyce Kelly Bergeron and his brother Richard Bergeron.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 2:15 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, 33744 with military honors presented by the Pinellas County Honor Guard
