Robert Wendell Robe, 79, of Tampa, FL passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at Consulate Health Care of Safety Harbor.
He was born on July 8, 1929 in Zanesville, OH, the son of Robert William and Alice Marie Robe. He was a long time church organist and pianist at the Kirk of Dunedin Community Church since moving here in 1988, and New Haven United Methodist Church in Tulsa, OK for 26-1/2years. He was a Chaplains Assistant in the US Army during the Korean War earning the rank of Private First Class.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mary; two daughters, Rebecca Robe Sherry and husband David of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Brenda Robe Larson and husband Dave of Apopka, FL; three sisters, Marlene Wiles, Sandra Robe and Carol Frame; and aunt, Winifred Krigbaum..
Visitation will be 10-11:30am on Friday, Jan. 30th at the Kirk of Dunedin, 2686 Bayshore Blvd., Dunedin FL 34698. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell and a memorial service will be at 11am on Saturday, Jan. 31st at the Kirk of Dunedin.
Memorials may be made in Robert Robe’s honor to the Kirk of Dunedin Community Church, 2686 Bayshore Blvd, Dunedin, FL 34698.
