Sharon Rose Benafield, 55, of Bradenton, FL passed away on Monday, August 13, 2007 at James H. Haley Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Tampa, FL. Born in Terre Haute, IN, she moved here from Jacksonville, FL in 1988. She received her CPA degree from the University of Florida and was an avid Gators Fan. She was owner and operator of R & R Cargo Transport. She was a member of the Florida CPA Assoc. and attended Elwood Park Baptist Church. She served in the US Navy. Survivors include her son, Jeff Chaney of Ft. Myers; her daughter, Dawn John Chuprevich of Huntersville, NC; parents, Earl & Katherine and brother, Gary Pennington of Terre Haute; sister, Beverly Couchois of Bradenton; two nieces and three nephews.

Dear Niece Sharon Rose,
You will be missed terribly. I know we didn?t see one another a lot in your adult years, but you were always in my thoughts, and as you know, I always called you my favorite. I will sorely miss your love, the unexpected packages of Chocolate sent by Priority Mail and all the greeting cards signed with your copyrighted ?Love Ya!? were most appreciated.

On the blessedly few occasions when I have had to write to convey my condolences, I am always lost for words? I think back to the summer when I was 6 years old, when my father your Great Grandfather had passed on, and remember vividly standing with my forehead braced against the side of the refrigerator and sobbing uncontrollably. A well meaning lady friend of the family approached to console me. She said ?In time this will pass, you will forget, and everything will be all right.? Well, in time the intense sobbing had passed, however, everything has never been quite all right. I still miss him, and have often wondered what it would have been like to have shared his life, and to have grown old together…
It is times like this that I most feel the physical distance that separates me from you, our family, and friends; as much as I enjoy our correspondence, it would be so much better if I could convey my condolences in person. But at the very least I want you to know that I am out here and care and waiting. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

I loved my cousin very much and she took a piece of my heart with her when she passed. I will miss her greatly; but the sweet memories of her will live on in my heart.
All the blessings you show to all people will always be remembered by your family and friends. Will be remembered always to you with love.
Dawn and I have been friends since we were two years old. I have so many memories of Sharon from my childhood. She raised two great kids and I know she will look down and be so proud. You will be greatly missed.
