S. Lorie Leonard, 51, of St. Petersburg, FL died on August 23, 2010 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.
She moved here in 1975 from her native Kokomo, IN. She was a Marine Corps veteran during the Persian Gulf War, serving in Hawaii and earning the rank of Corporal. She worked in children’s private care as an LPN. She also served in the Army National Guard and then the Army Reserves. She attended Park Street Baptist Church and enjoyed Renaissance Festivals, reading and traveling.
Lorie is survived by her husband of 9 years, Jay; 2 sons, Kyle Gallagher, St. Petersburg, and David Woodall, Seminole; a daughter, Jessie Leonard, Largo; mother, Sue Fulkerson; brother, Lenny Fulkerson; and sister, Lisa Wood, all of Indiana.
Memorial service with honors by Marine Corps League Det. #54 and Chaplain Dan Hummer will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, Aug. 26th at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Boulevard, Bay Pines, FL 33744.
