Teresa Gonzalez Cruz 76, of Tampa, died Sunday, September 26, 2010. Teresa was born in Tampa, FL, and at age one, she moved with her parents to Cuba. She married Carlos Cruz, Sr. in 1952. They lived together in Cuba before returning to Tampa in 1954 where they made their lifelong home.
Her parents, Luis and Margarita Gonzalez, and her brother, Valentine Evelio Gonzalez, predecease Teresa. She is survived by her husband, Carlos M. Cruz, Sr.; children; Maura Lanz (Manuel), Marilyn Guy (Harry) and Carlos M. Cruz, Jr. (Aimee); brothers, Mario Gonzalez (Estelle) and Amado Gonzalez (Flora); sister, Maria Isabel Simon (Carl); 7 grandchildren; David, Manny and Mia Lanz, Cory Otamendi, Ariel Guy, Carlos V. and Antonio Cruz, and 5 great grandchildren, all of Tampa. She also has several nieces and nephews.
Teresa will always be remembered for her contagious smile and her love for her family.
Services will be held on Friday, October 1, at Bethel Church of Tampa, 1510 W. Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL. A visitation will be held at 10AM, followed by an 11AM Funeral Service. Graveside services will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery.
My prayers and thoughts go out to my brother-in-law George and all of Teresa’s family. I will never forget her beautiful and friendly smile. Cherish the memories, they will make you smile and keep you close to her forever.
