Veterans Funeral Care Thomas Muratore

Thomas J. Muratore, 84, of Pinellas Park, Florida died on November 6, 2009 at his residence and under the loving care of his family and Suncoast Hospice. He was born in New York City on June 20, 1925, the son of the late Jack and Anna Romeo Muratore. Tom attended local schools and later served three years with the United States Navy during World War II as an aviation mechanic.

Following his military career, Tom was employed and retired as a dispatcher for the New York City Transit Authority. After moving to Florida in 1977, he worked for several years in fleet services for the St. Petersburg Times.

Tom is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Meringolo Muratore, of Pinellas Park; his daughters: Anne Nemes, and her husband, Michael, of Dunedin, Florida, and Martha Henninger, and her husband, Richard, of Jeannette, Pennsylvania; his sister, Mary Sciulara of Ozone Park, NY; his brothers: Stephen Muratore, and his wife, Nettie, of Mt. Arlington, NJ, and Albert Muratore, and his wife, Lucille, of Staten Island, NY; four grandchildren: Gina Thomas of New Port Richey, FL, Christopher Nemes of Holiday, FL, Lisa Henninger of Greensburg, PA, and Deana Eutsey of Finleyville, PA; and three great-grandchildren: Kristen Thomas and Shad Thomas, Jr., both of New Port Richey, FL, and Bradley Eutsey of Finleyville, PA.

Services are scheduled from Sylvan Abbey United Methodist, 2817 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL on Monday, November 9, 2009 with visitation at 10am and services at 11am. Should friends desire, donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice/Silver Team, 3050 1st Avenue S., St. Petersburg, FL 33012 in Tom’s memory.
