Vincent P. Gray, 84, of Largo, FL passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Pinecrest Place ALF.
He moved from his native Warren, PA to The Villages, FL in 1997. He retired as owner of the Quaker State Service Station and the Scandia Store after 35 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was an avid golfer.
Vincent was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Wilson Gray. Survivors include his daughter, Lorie Jo (Ray) Bruno of So. Pasadena, FL; son, Michael (Jeanne) Gray of Pittsburgh, PA; brother, Paul of Erie, PA; two sisters, Mary Jane Olander and Betty Deardorff, both of Orlando, FL; and two granddaughters, Nicole and Kelly Gray of Pittsburgh.
A graveside service with military honors will be presented at 10 AM on Friday, May 18th at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, FL 33744.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation www.TheHospiceFoundation.org , the Alzheimer’s Assoc., or the USO.

He was such a nice uncle – always had a smile and was just very kind. I will never forget visiting Uncle Vin and Aunt Joyce in their store. They took my friend and I to dinner and we got to visit with them. Rest in Peace Uncle Vin. XOXO
I worked with Vinny at his time at Whirley enjoyed working with him.
A gentle soul with a zest for life, a rare combination. Heaven has called up an all star from this planet of rookie do good’ers. If we are judged by how we honor our responsibilities, then Vinnie has passed his test, as proved in the lives of the people he touched with his big-hearted presence . Happy to have known him.

I still have many fond memories from the days working at the service station. I learned a lot from Vinnie and will always remember his easy manner and ever-present smile. And I can still picture Joyce driving that big blue Pontiac convertible.

Taught me to live life with grace and integrity; to Love unconditionally. He always let me tag along, we spent alot of time outdoors: stocking fish at Spring Creek, snowmobiling, golfing, snow plowing, water skiing on Chataqua Lake, riding with the top down and family cookouts. Thanks for the memories.
So very sorry to hear of vinnies passing. We had some great times playing cards with him and joyce. Hanging out at the old gas station with spud. I will miss him a lot hope you guys are doing okay. He was a great guy. Rudy
Lori and Mike, I am sending this message to you on behalf of myself as well as my mom & dad (who do not have a computer !). We all have such fond memories of your Dad (& mom) and we’ll always have those memories to look back on. I also remember fishing in Spring Creek, water skiing on Chautauqua Lake & snowmobiling up Brown Run. We spent alot of time hanging with you & your family in our younger years. Dear Lorie Jo and Michael, Dear,sweet Uncle Vinny: As a teenager, taking me on bicycle rides when I was just a little tyke at 4 Biddle St. (Grandma Gray always worried about us when we took off)! Driving his convertible .. he was so cool! Everyone wanted to ride with him! I love you, Uncle Vinny. RIP You were so very special to so many! Great memories, Lorie Jo!!
