Walter C. Cox, Jr., 88, of Palm Harbor, FL, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012.
Born in Washington, DC, he moved here from Bethesda, MD in 1994. He attended the Univ. of Maryland and American University and retired as a trust officer for Riggs National Bank. Walter was WWII veteran in the US Army Air Force and Air Force Reserve. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Old Fort Harrison Post #2473 in Clearwater, FL and member of Curlew United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vivian; two sons, Charles of Germantown, MD and Larry of Glen Ellyn, IL; two grandsons and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 PM on Friday, May 4th at St. Mark Village Chapel, 2655 Nebraska Avenue, Palm Harbor, FL 34684 with Rev. Herb Angel officiating. Interment will be private at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions if you wish be made to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad, 5020 Battery Lane, Bethesda, MD 20814-0077.
