Walter O’Neal passed on to see Jesus on February 2, 2010 after a long illness.

He was born in Durham, NC on January 23, 1939, and over the years worked in management in the trucking and corrugated box manufacturing industry, He also worked for a while as an accountant with the Department of Veterans Affairs until he became disabled and could no longer work. He proudly served in the Army from 1956 to 1960, and later with the Air Force from 1961 until 1967, serving one tour in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966.
 

Walt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks in Largo, Florida, and the Disabled American Veterans in Pensacola and Clearwater. While in Pensacola, Walt served as a local commander and later as National Service Officer.
 

Walt was predeceased by his parents, Robert Lewis and Dorothy Draper O’Neal, and brother, Norman O’ Neal. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judie Stark O’ Neal, of Largo, Florida; his daughter, Mary Ann O’Neal of Largo; his son, Jeffrey O’ Neal and wife, Michelle, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his sister, Becky and her husband, Warren, of Newark, Delaware; and his five grandchildren: Amy Stephens, Brian Stephens, Alexa O’Neal, Sidnie O’ Neal, and Parker O’ Neal.
 

Walt will be greatly missed.
