William A. Shaw, 85, of Oldsmar died November 19, 2010 at Brookside Hospice House.
Born in Yonkers, NY, he moved here from Beacon, NY in 1997. He retired from AT&T as an Installer for NY Bell after 37 years of service. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII earning the rank of Electricians Mate Third Class (EM3). He was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and an active member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, Safety Harbor.
He was preceded in death by his first wife in 2003, Bernice. Survivors include his wife, Florence Ambrosio-Shaw; two sons, Robert of Oldsmar, and Richard of Spartanburg, SC; two daughters, CarolAnn (Robert) Groskopfs of St. Petersburg, and Gail E. (Phillip) Grierson of Tarpon Springs; two stepsons, Tom Ambrosio of Salt Point, NY and Richard Ambrosio of Walden, NY; brother, Richard A.; and 8 grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass for the Repose of His Soul will be celebrated at 10:30AM on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, Safety Harbor, followed by a Full Military Honors presentation 2:15PM at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
