William F. Renner, 89, of Sun City Center, FL passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System, Bay Pines, FL.
He moved here from his native Ashland, PA in 1998. He retired as a sheet metal worker for the NY Shipyards in Camden, NJ after more than 15 years. He attended Redeemer Lutheran Church locally and was a member of the Masons, Shriners, and American Legion. He was an Army veteran of WWII where he served in the European Theater under Gen. Patton for four battles, earning the rank of Corporal. William enjoyed making jewelry, weaving carpets, hunting, woodworking, and growing plants.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Pansy Foy. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Elizabeth; two sons, CW3 Richard Renner, USMC Ret. of Parrish and LTC Raymond Renner, USMC Ret. of Readfield, ME; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
A Graveside service with military honors will be presented by American Legion Post #273 at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines 33744.
