Ann F. Smith, 92, of Lakeland, FL since 2010, formerly of Madeira Beach and St. Petersburg, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Redland, CA, she moved to Florida from Spirit Lake, IA in 1982. She was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lakeland and former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in St. Petersburg. She was an avid reader and enjoyed dancing, snowmobiling, and boating. She was also an expert Duplicate Bridge Player.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; son, Roland Gary Jackson; two brothers, Herbert and Mickey Palmtag; and sister, Priscilla Thomas. Survivors include her daughter, Cherie Dykers of Lakeland; two sons, Dan Smith of Lakeland and R. Terry Jackson of Largo, FL; nine grandchildren: Heather Constant, Cody and Travis Dykers, Carissa Parisi, Roger J. and Chad Smith, Robin T. Jackson Jr., Robyn Christine Jackson and Tracy Jackson; and six great grandchildren, Zachary and Isabella Constant, John Pierce, Amanda Jackson, Phillip Taylor, and Preston Snook.
Graveside services will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, 33513.
Meme was a generous spirit on this earth and her spirit will continue to shine down on us. We’ll miss you Meme.
Meme was a bright shining star. Her happy, friendly demeanor endeared her to all of us and she will be missed.
Every time we think of Meme or see her picture she brings a smile to our face. She will be missed!
MeMe was an inspiration for us all, a very special lady, full of cheer and laughter, We will miss her smiling eyes and especially the times spent together….Rest peacefully knowing that you will always be in our hearts. We love you MeMe.
