Annamma Jacob (lovingly called “Ammachy”) was born in Omallur, India in December of 1925 to her parents Vilavinal Idichandy and Annamma Vilavinal. She was the eldest of seven children. She moved to Theppupara after a few years, where she lived most of her young life. Although she ended her schooling at the age of ten, she had excellent mathematics and managerial skills and began overseeing her family’s fields.
In 1944, she was married at the age of nineteen to the late T.G. Jacob (Chundottu), and moved in with him and his family of ten people. After having two children, Ammachy and Appachan built their own family home in Theppupara and began their life on a farm. She later had five more children, and taught them all the value of hard-work and how to live a prayerful and Christ-centered life. She was especially skilled in memorizing Bible verses.
Ammachy moved to the USA in the 1980s. After a few years, Appachan joined her in the USA, where they lived the rest of their life with their children.
After completing 99 years of life, Ammachy was called to be with The Lord on January 6, 2025. She survived by her four siblings (Salama, Amminy, Kunjappy, & Kunjumon), seven children (George Jacob, Chandy Jacob, Susan Roy, Koshy Jacob, Abraham Jacob, Sam Jacob, & Sara Thekkanal) and their spouses. She was further blessed with sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
