Billy H. Hellems, 88, of Largo, Florida passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023. He was born on August 29, 1934, in Winchester, Virginia to Dennis and Mary (Baker) Hellems. He served in the United States Air Force as a navigator and, after being Honorably Discharged, he began a lifelong career in computers, eventually opening his own computer corporation. He moved to the local area in 2011 from Maryland where he was a longtime member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park, Maryland.
Billy is survived by his wife, Doris (Bosse) of Largo, Florida; a son, Lance Hellems (Donna) of Seminole, Florida; three daughters; Laura Towles (Robert) of Wellington, Kentucky; Lisa Dee (Michael) of Mooresville, North Carolina, and Leah Shoulders (Troy) of Seminole, Florida; along with nine grandchildren; Jason, Lindsay, Lawrence, Brittney, Michael, Matthew, Lauren, Garret, and Shelby; and three great-grandchildren; Ethan, Savanna, and Quentin. Captain Billy H. Hellems will be laid to rest at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 1000 Bay Pines Blvd., Bay Pines, Florida 33765.
