It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Robert Tejera, a devoted father, esteemed military police officer, and beloved member of our community. Brian left us on February 14th, 2024, leaving a legacy of honor, dedication, and love.
Brian was a quiet man, but those who knew him understood the depth of his character and the warmth of his heart. Born on November 18th, 1983, he embarked on a remarkable journey of service to his country, fulfilling his childhood dream of joining the military right after high school. He achieved the rank of E4 and served under a 4-star general, garnering numerous accolades for his outstanding commitment, including the Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Defense Service Medal, and many more.
One of Brian’s greatest joys was his ability to travel and experience different cultures during his military service. His favorite destination was Ukraine, where he found a deep appreciation for the people and their history. Despite his remarkable achievements, Brian remained humble, always putting the needs of others before his own.
Following his military career, Brian pursued his lifelong dream of becoming a police officer. He completed rigorous training and dedicated a decade of his life to the Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team. His commitment to upholding justice and ensuring the safety of his community earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow officers.
Brian’s true pride and joy, however, were his two sons, Ethan and Caleb. He was a devoted father, sharing his passion for law enforcement with Ethan, who aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps. Brian’s love and guidance will forever resonate in the hearts of his cherished boys.
Brian is survived by his sons, Ethan and Caleb Tejera, their mother Adrian, his parents Robin (Hal) Berry and Rafael Tejera, his brothers Rafael (Ashley), Philip (Amanda), and Mike (Jen), and his nephew and nieces, Alex, Taylor, and Sophia. He is also remembered by his grandmothers, Jane Benedict and Judy Braig, and a host of extended family members, including aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and countless brothers-in-arms.
A visitation to celebrate Brian’s life will be held at Veterans Funeral Care on Monday, February 26, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, located at 830 N Belcher Road, Clearwater, FL 33765.
His funeral service will occur the following day, February 27, 2024, at Veterans Funeral Care at 10:00 AM, followed by a graveside service at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513 at 2:00 PM.
The family would like to thank Nancy & Mike Kachurik, Tanya & Nick Giordano, Corey Roberts, Pastor Brian Hoxie, Bradley Noblitt, and everyone who brought meals for them.
