Carmela (Millie) Pergamo, 90, nee LoCastro of Brookdale Community in Clearwater, Florida passed away quietly on May 28, 2018 with her family at her side. Carmela was previously from Brooklyn, New York and moved to Florida in 1996. She was a devoted wife, loving mother of four, grandmother of six and great-grandmother of three.
She supported her husband through assistance in real estate ventures. Carmela enjoyed cooking and was famous for italian meatballs and her Easter pies. In her personal life, she was happiest when being around family. She also loved to dance, volunteer at the American Legion and VFW, crochet, and play slots at Hard Rock. She was very lucky at Bingo, favoring cards that had number 8, and she loved playing the card game three thirteen with family and friends. She loved to solve Word Puzzles and watch classic movies on Turner Movie Channel. Carmela will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Anna Solimando of Clearwater, Florida, her son John Pergamo (his partner Thien) of Clearwater, Fl, her daughter-in-law Rosa Pergamo of Stroudsburg,PA, her grandchildren: Daniela (Tony) Gurganus of Fuquay Varina, NC, Michael (Natalie) Solimando of Chandler, AZ, Joseph Pergamo of Stoudsburg, PA and Brendan (Charis) Pergamo of Stroudsburg, PA, Gianna Pergamo (her partner Dan) of St Petersburg, FL, and Giovanni Pergamo of Clearwater Fl…Her great grandchildren: Michael, Bryanne and Taina-Marie, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Pasquale (Patsy), her sons, Joseph and Anthony, her son-in-law Frank (Sal) Solimando, her brother Joseph LoCastro and sister Margie Modica.
Her viewing will be on June 6, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church located at 2405 Phillippe Parkway in Safety Harbor, Fl. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
