Mrs. Vest passed away Sunday, in St. Petersburg, Fl, preceded in death by her husband of 60 years GM Vest and her parents Andrew and Betty Antal. Surviving family members include a sister Ruth Liessa, son Jim (Roberta), grandchildren Katie (Mick), James (Kaitlyn), 2 great grandchildren Addie and Belle and many more family and friends.
Carol was born in Cleveland Ohio, the 10th child to parents Andrew and Betty Antal. At the age of 17 she married GM Vest and following her husband’s career path she has lived in Florida, California, Arizona, South Carolina, Georgia and finally settled in Cullman Alabama, where she was the director of her church’s day care, a job she truly loved. When the church discontinued the program her and her husband moved to Florida and finished out their years.
Carol was born care giver. She was always ready to lend a helping hand. She worked hard for her church and her community, always seeing the best in people and looking for how she could help them, either by a smile, a hug, a card or just a conversation. In the last few years of her life, as her physical condition deteriorated, she struggled with having to give up serving others. As an artist would be if they lost their ability to create, she had lost her ability to serve. When she realized this, she was ready to meet her maker. And she did, Sunday morning, 24th of April at 430am.
Graveside services for family and friends will be held on May 23rd in Crane Hill, Alabama.
