On Friday, November 5, 2021 Carolyn Faye Manson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
Throughout her life Carolyn was known for her independence, sense of humor and remarkable ability to make friends with people from all walks of life. Carolyn was born on July 22, 1935 in Hollonville, Georgia to Arthur Pryor and Barnell Pryor. Her family included sisters Patty, Gwyndolyn and brother Bruce.
Carolyn graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago and married Donald Manson. Carolyn had a love for travel and was known to visit a casino now and then.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter Sandra Ambrose (Orlando, FL), son David Manson (wife Andrea) and son Douglas Manson (wife Sarah); grandchildren Kate Ambrose-Windholz (husband Ben Windholz), Joseph Manson and James Manson.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 1 pm at Veterans Funeral Care in Clearwater.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pike County Historical Society – P.O. Box 178 – Zebulon, GA 30295-0178.

Doug, Sarah, Joseph and James,
I am so sorry for your loss but thankfully you have beautiful memories so she will live on in your hearts forever. She also lives in the values you got from her, the example she set for you and they way she loved you back. Thinking of you all now. I will be in South Florida Nov. 21 but my thoughts will be with all of you.. I’ve heard so many stories about her over the years that I feel like I know her. Your loss can only be mitigated with tears and healing.

Our deepest sympathies in the loss of your wonderful Mother and grandmother. Carolyn was a bright light in our daily lives while working in the court system. We shared laughter and friendship for many years. Carolyn, I hope you are playing the 1 armed bandit for a big win. Rest in peace, we love you!
Your mom was such a wonderful woman for the short time Dick and I knew her. We got to know her through the Benson family and we kept in touch through Facebook. She always commented on my kids activities and she was so sweet and kind. She will be missed.
Dearest Family and Friends of Carolyn, I am so very sorry for your loss.
I am so glad that my mother( JoAnn Koster formerly JoAnn Beck)had Carolyn for a good friend for almost fifty years- and I got to love her as well. I loved her positive, fun spirit in any situation and her red, high heels !! And, of course, her laugh! She will be missed!🥰
Carolyn was the sweetest, nicest and most caring lady. She was a true friend to my mom and dad (Florence & Floyd Jacobs) and even though I hadn’t seen her in 30 + years. She still was a part of my and my family’s life through Facebook and messenger. I can honestly say the nicest lady I ever meant in Florida. I have a hole in my heart.
So saddened to hear the news… Todd S. Jacobs
I’m so very sorry to hear of Carolyn’s passing. I’m so glad to hear she passed peacefully and surrounded by her beloved family. Carolyn was a very special lady. She became our “Norm from Cheers” at the Holiday Inn Surfside Lobby bar back in the 80s. We all loved her like family. She will be missed. I’m so glad we had a mini Surfside reunion with her and the girls a few years back. I’ll look forward to seeing you in Heaven someday Carolyn.
