Dad, We thank God we had you with us for 90 years. Your humor and adventurous spirit will be missed but there is comfort it lives on within your children, grand children and great grand children.
In keeping with Navy tradition I offer you an old Navy changing of the watch:
AYE MATES, FOR 90 YEARS THIS MAN HAS STOOD THE WATCH. WHILE SOME OF US WERE IN SCHOOL, LEARNING OUR TRADE, THIS MAN HAS STOOD THE WATCH. YES…EVEN BEFORE SOME OF US WERE BORN INTO THIS WORLD, THIS MATE STOOD THE WATCH…TODAY WE ARE HERE TO SAY, SHIPMATE THE WATCH STANDS RELIEVED. RELIEVED BY THOSE YOU HAVE TRAINED, GUIDED, AND LED. SHIPMATE YOU STAND RELIEVED.
You will be missed but never forgotten. Love, Your Son
Being aproud veteran myself,I thank you for you service and hope to meet you in heaven.Patricia(Franks)Watson(USAF).
