harles Miesse was born on July 24, 1941 to Charles S. Miesse, II and Virginia E. Wiley in Columbus, Ohio. He passed away on December 30, 2016 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Florida. Charles was a Marine and a retired Police Officer with the Miami Dade Sheriffs Office.
Family
He is survived by sisters Charlene Giuffre, Ellie Sorenson; children Lisa Smith (deceased), H. Patrick Montgomery, Claudia Miesse-Sliwa, Charles S. Miesse IV, Vincent Vance Miesse, Gabrielle Miesse, Benjamin Hutchinson; grandchildren Ronan Hutchinson, Stephanie and Shawn Smith, Aiden and Evan Montgomery, Angelina, Sophia and Calliope Sliwa, Ginger and Nicole Miesse.
Memorial Service
A military funeral to honor the life of Charles Miesse is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2017 at 11:30 am at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps.
Special Acknowledgements
The family would like to thank the staff of nurses and doctors at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center and the Lynn Cancer Center for the outstanding care that was provided Charles. As his battle with cancer progressed the team at Hospice by the Sea stepped in and allowed him to live out his final days free of pain and allowed him to maintain his dignity. The entire Miesse family is indebted to the care that Charles received.
