Charles W. Shaw – Obituary
August 31, 1932 – July 11, 2026

Charles W. Shaw was born in Somerset, Kentucky August 31, 1932, to Charles Parker Shaw and Anna Davis Shaw (Pearl).
After high school, Dad joined the Navy June 23, 1952, at the age of 19. Serving the Navy as a Radarman, Dad’s job was to maintain and operate radar systems, interpret the radar data and assist in tactical plotting and navigation aboard the USS Osberg (DE-538). His time of service for the Navy was from 1952 to 1956 during the United States involvement in the Korean War.
During his enlistment in the Navy, Dad was introduced, by a good friend, to a lovely young lady by the name of Jean E. Fleming. They became sweethearts and subsequently got married on August 20, 1955, at State Street Congregational Church in Portland, Maine.
Dad finished his active duty in the Navy and entered the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, finishing with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Dad worked as an engineer at Honeywell, and Paradyne in Largo, Florida and finished his working career repairing autos at CJ’s auto repair in Clearwater, Florida with a dear friend Jay Spurling.
Dad came to know the Lord on January 21, 1973, while attending Harvest Temple Church of God when he was living in Seminole, Florida. Dad was a loving husband and father and served the Lord throughout his days up until he went home to be with Jesus on July 11, 2026.
Dad and Mom had four children: Linda J. Hammil, David W. Shaw, Michael S. Shaw, and John C. Shaw.
Along with his four children, Dad is survived by: three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one great great grandchild.
