Dearest Judy,
I know Louise has conveyed my love, but I’m glad to have a chance to give you a message directly. I know you must still be in shock. I am so sorry, and I have been thinking about you ever since I heard the news. I have had plenty of loss of family in my life, but never the loss of a partner, so I won’t presume to say I know how you feel. I only know that there must be a huge hole torn in the fabric of your universe. My heart goes out to you. I am so glad you have such good support from your family and friends and neighbors. That’s so important.
All my love,
Rhonda

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss . My heart goes out to you and your family . Chris lived life to the fullest and had a great attitude . I will always remember all our talks and the influence he had on my life . Rest in peace Chris
I grew up with Chris on the high road in Bronxville. I am sorry he went so young. I am thrilled he made a good marriage with you thanks for taking care of a boy I knew long time ago. Take your loss in small doses if you can. I don’t know how to. Much love and peace to you.
Judy, puppies and rest of the family; We are so saddened by the loss of such a wonderful, giving and generous soul. The stories you have told me of all of the rescued Labs (when I met you both in 2000, you had 4-5 black labs…all rescues!!!). If that is not a legacy, I am not sure what is. He is watching us all from Heaven and hoping that we all keep up his unconditional love for God’s creatures. Judy, you have so many wonderful memories and I, and my 6 cats , my babies too , send you all love and peace!!Love, Lani, Athena, Hercules, Ares, Alex, Skyy and Dewi

Judy, my deepest condolences to you. Chris was one of my very best buddies from elementary school onward. He was always a warm and caring guy – and fun. He will be missed by many. Leigh
I knew Chris from the time I moved to Woodland Avenue around 1950. He was my next door neighbor until someone built a house on the lot in between our houses. We were the best of friends right up until we graduated. Played football together and hung out like all of us did back in our youth. We kind of lost touch after high school, but reconnected at the ’83 reunion and talked on the phone every now and then, mostly about football in the south. He was always a big fan and knew more about USC football than most in FL.
His picture on this site is great. Just as I remember him. One of the truly nice guys in our class. I remember his parents Marston and Nancy. I wish his brother Dave and younger sister Barbara well at this time of grief.
Rest in Peace my friend, you may be gone but certainly not forgotten.
Gibby will always be remembered by me and the rest of the Class of ’63 at BHS.
Ted Meyer
Many fond memories of sweet Chris from BHS years. Sending his family condolences on this sad sad loss. Mary Armstrong-Spitzer
Dear Judy,
My condolences to you and your family. Chris was one of my closest friends as elementary school pals, then in high school. Along with neighbors Ted Meyer and Pete Rhoads, we’d ride our bikes past the Gregory house on Beechwood, enjoy the jump at the top of that hill, then work our way over to Woodland Avenue. Chris’s mom and dad were always welcoming of Chris’s buddies and I remember helped me out one time when I ended up on the hood of a car, bike in the ditch until my parents came to collect me.
Fond memories of a very nice person.

DEAR JUDY, BARBARA AND DAVE, I STILL CAN’T GET OVER THE SHOCK OF HEARING ABOUT CHRIS’ DEATH…IT MUST BE JUST DEVASTATING FOR ALL OF YOU, AND SO HEARTBREAKING FOR HIS MANY CLASSMATES AT B.H.S., IN BRONXVILLE. YEARS AGO, JUDY, HE TEXT ME A PICTURE OF YOU, WITH HIM, AND YOUR 2 DOGS, AND TOLD ME HOW HAPPY HE WAS AND THAT HE WAITED A LONG TIME TO FIND THE PERFECT WOMAN FOR HIM. I HAVE SUCH FOND MEMORIES OF CHRIS, HIS QUIRKY SMILE, HIS LAUGHTER, HIS ENERGY AND ENTHUSIASM, AND HIS HONESTY AND INTEGRITY, ABOVE ALL ELSE… I WILL HOLD YOU IN MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS, AND MAY GOD GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH TO GET THROUGH THIS TRAGIC AND DIFFICULT TIME. WITH DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO ALL OF YOU, AND TO MICHAEL WINTON, WHO WAS ALSO A WONDERFUL BROTHER TO CHRIS…GRETCHEN RENNER DEVLIN
I was saddened to hear of Cgris’s passing. While I have not seen him in many years I have fond memories of Chris and I sledding down the hill behind his house in Bronxville.

Barbara, Judy and family,
Hope you find comfort in many fond memories of Chris. I first met him when visiting the Gibbs’ house during a college break and thought “what an interesting, fun and good looking brother Barbara has!” That was about 40 years ago, but I’ve continued to think how lucky Barbara was to have a caring, like-minded and supportive brother like Chris. He touched many people and will be truly missed.
My thoughts are with you all.
Maggie
I was very shy when we were all growing up in Bronxville.
Chris was always nice to me & went out of his way to make me feel comfortable when I was around. I
I have not seen him since high school, but remember him with a smile.

Dear Judy and Family,
It was with deep sadness that I learned of Chris’s passing. I just could not believe such an active, alive person would be taken from us. Much too soon.
I remember him and his family from our days in Bronxville more than 60 years ago. he always had a quick wit and ready smile.
We would talk during his drives across the US and I was always happy to see his name on my phone. He never lost his ability to debate an issue and seemingly could take either side!!
I hope you all realize how many people counted him as a great friend and will miss him dearly.
Judy I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Chris’ passing. I have such wonderful memories of the both of you and remember my days working at your fruit market so fondly. My thoughts and condolences are with you and your family.

My classmate and one of my earliest childhood friends. A great person in every respect. My deepest sympathy to all his family.
I am shocked to find my old friend is no longer alive, but I am happy to know that he lived a good life and gave joy to others. I knew Chris fifty years ago and no one, I mean no one, had greater influence on my life. I’ve missed him since and, because of these tributes, have gotten to know him again. What a love of life he had and what an honest person he was!
Yes, years have passed and I have thought about Chris many times when scanning facebook.
I send my condolences and love.
Chris obviously touched many lives including me. I stayed close to him at Bronxville and UVM. He introduced me to skateboarding in the summer of 64.
We skiied together in our bluejeans.
I tagged along with his friends in B’ville and Vermont. What a time.
