Claudia Maureen Terrence, 78, of St. Petersburg, FL, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026, at the Masonic Home of Florida. Her family misses her deeply.
She was born in Upland, CA, to Francis and Patricia Graham, and grew up in San Diego. She attended UC Berkeley before marrying Joseph Terrence, with whom she had one child. After living in New York, they settled in DeLand, FL, where Claudia worked for and eventually retired from the Volusia County Government as a tax specialist.
Claudia loved nature and spent countless hours hiking and observing Florida’s birds and wildlife. An avid folk dancer, she performed regularly with a local group at festivals. Her devotion to her family was clear in her moves to Illinois, California, and back to Florida to remain close to her grandchildren. Her family will always cherish the special touches she brought to holidays and birthdays, particularly her habit of searching out beautifully intricate cards and wrapping paper.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joseph. She is survived by her son, Peter, and his wife, Jessica; her sister, Jenny; her niece, Nadine; her two grandchildren, Olivia and Charlotte; and her cat, Nessie.
