Disler, Corinne P. (Ellis), age 65, of Tampa, Florida, passed away on March 06, 2021 after an extended battle with lupus. She was born in Teaneck, New Jersey and was raised in Oradell NJ. She relocated to the Tampa Bay area in the early 80’s, and moved to her home near downtown Tampa with her husband Don in 2005.
Corinne was a majorette in high-school and attended college at Castleton College in Vermont. She spent time working in finance, banking, and casinos before moving to the Tampa Bay area to be close to her parents. In 1985 Corinne decided to change careers and completed a vocational program in computer programming. She started as an intern at the General Mills/Talbots data center in Tampa in 1986 where she met her husband Don. She stayed for over 20 years and retired in 2007.
For more than 40 years Corinne fought Lupus. Facing daily pain, physical struggles, infections and many surgeries, Corinne never once complained.
Her niece Melissa Ellis described Corinne as a Pillar of strength and perseverance. She was the glue that kept the families together. She was the keeper of all family information and kept everyone connected. She loved her Mom and Dad and supported the family members who cared for them. Corinne was just a phone call away for anything her parents needed to make them comfortable in their final years. She was #8 of 10 siblings. She loved life and all the people in her life. Hundreds of responses on Facebook from schoolmates to friends and family describe her love, smiles and laugh. She did not slow down. She bravely faced everything life threw at her and just kept refusing to give in. She passed away peacefully with her husband by her side.
Corinne stayed continually active. She was involved in her Condo Association board of directors and has been President for the prior 2 years. She enjoyed photography and was extremely talented at sewing.
Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Charles Ellis and 3 brothers, Charlie Paul, Benson, and Richard. She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Don; three Sisters, Mary Lynn Medvecky of Ft. Meyers, FL, Elaine Ellis of Durango Colorado, and Annie Kondracki of Whitingham, Vt, along with three brothers, Rob Ellis of Charlotte, NC, Peter Ellis of Jacksonville VT, David Ellis of Durango Colorado, many nieces and nephews and her dog Brio.
A celebration of life is planned for this summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America at www.lupus.org
Corinne was a friendly, courageous, talented and inspirational person and perhaps above all a great friend.
The world was improved by her presence, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Corinne was our neighbor for 12 years. We became friends, shopping buddies, dog walking companions and sharing lives as TRUE FRIENDS do. She always had thoughts of how to help others as her duty of the day. She had many health issues, but not one complaint. She was the most fearless person I have ever known! Her spirt was one to be admired. I will miss you every day dear friend. WE LOVE YOU! Rest Well
I had the wonderful opportunity to date Corrine in the mi 70’s. She taught me how to drive stick in her Datsun. She was great to be with and every Chance I had was with her. I haven’t talked with her in years but I always had strong feelings for her and her wonderful parents feeding me every weekend in Oradel. I will never forget her and I’m sure Christ’s peace is surrounding her now.

I will miss her even though I haven’t seen her in years. The peace of Christ is certainly all around her now. Be strong and always remember that you all had the time spent with a beautiful woman.
I worked with Corinne for many years at Talbots and she was one of the best people I knew. She met every challenge with grace and courage, and nary a complaint. Her endless optimism made her a pleasure to be around and brightened every room she entered. We shared many good times together, including lunches both while we were working and after retirement, touring the Grand Canyon by helicopter during a work trip to Las Vegas and volunteering with the Gasparilla Arts Festival. She will be greatly missed.
