It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Corodon Stafford Francis, who left this world on February 16, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on November 23, 1948, in Tampa, Florida, Corodon lived a life rich in service, love, and adventure.
Corodon was the beloved son of Stafford Paulding and Celeste Lillian (Blaunt) Francis, who preceded him in death, along with his cherished sister, Candace Henderson, and his son, Shaun Francis. He is survived by his loving wife, Marivic Francis, who stood by him through thick and thin, sharing a bond that was sealed in marriage on June 15, 2000, in Manama, Bahrain. Together, they created a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories.
A proud veteran, Corodon served his country with distinction as a Senior Chief Petty Officer E-8 in the U.S. Navy, specializing in Explosives Ordnance Disposal. His dedication and bravery earned him the prestigious Defense Meritorious Award, reflecting his commitment to protecting and serving his nation. His military service was not just a career; it was a calling that defined much of who he was. He was also a skilled parachute jumper and deep-sea diver, embodying the spirit of adventure that characterized his life.
Corodon was deeply involved in his community and held memberships in several organizations, including the Catholic/Christian community, Life Member of the China Post 1, Life Member of the American Legion No. 1, Life Member of the VFW Post 8108, and he served as Chief Petty Officer of the U.S. Navy. His contributions to these organizations were driven by a genuine desire to support his fellow veterans and his community.
Outside of his military and community involvement, Corodon had a zest for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He loved swimming, fishing, camping, and rifle shooting, often finding joy in the great outdoors. These moments brought him peace and allowed him to connect with nature and the world around him. His adventurous spirit and love for the water were qualities that endeared him to many.
As we gather to celebrate Corodon’s life, we remember a man of remarkable character, whose dedication to his family, country, and community has left a lasting impact on all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength and kindness, a source of wisdom and laughter, and a steadfast friend to many.
As we bid farewell to Corodon Stafford Francis, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy will endure through the love and memories he leaves behind. He will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
