To Darryl’s Family: May God keep you until you meet up again with this amazing man that blessed everyone’s life he touched. As a previous member of the F.D.N.Y. as an E.M.T., I had the pleasure of working side by side with Darryl every night on Unit 27B out of Battalion 15 on White Plains Rd. in the Wakefield/Botanical Gardens Section of The Bronx in New York City. Darryl taught and mentored me like no other! He quickly became family to me as if we came from the same mother. We lost contact with each other for a brief moment as our lives went down different roads, yet we always managed to catch up with one another and it was as if we never missed a beat. I found out he moved to Florida shortly after my purchasing a home just a short ways from him. We both laughed at how he and I could possibly ended up living miles from one another despite where we initially met. Last we spoke he said he’d take the short trip to visit and welcome my family and I into the Sunshine State but unfortunately, that never came to pass. The sad thing is when I called to check on him knowing he was ill, I never got a return call. Somehow… I was Spirit lead to type his name into Google, to see if I could locate him seeing as he never answered his phone any longer. Only to find out he had passed away two (2) year’s, one day ago. It is with my deepest respect and condolences that such a wonderful person, with whom has so much in common with me and so many others is no longer around to spread his loving kindness, knowledge and compassion. Darryl you will forever be remembered and never forgotten! Rest In Heaven My Brother & Friend… 🙏🏾
