Dawn Flack Protzer, age 70, of Redington Shores, Florida & Sharps Chapel, Tennessee was unexpectedly welcomed into Heaven on May 2, 2025. She was born in Tampa, Florida, the only child of the late David & Betty Flack, on May 23, 1954. On May 1, 1976 she married the love of her life, William Richard Protzer, at Walmwood Gardens in Carrollwood, Florida. Together they shared 49 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband Bill, daughter Courtney (Tim), daughter Lauren (Ryan), granddaughter Charley (10), and grandson Caden (8). She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tampa in 1975 where she met Bill in organic chemistry. She later earned a Masters of Math Education at Texas State University. She spent her early professional years working at the Bureau of Labor Statistics & the Department of Energy. From there she went on to teach math to high school & college students before retiring in 1989 to spend more time with her children and family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, reading, sewing, embroidery, and the stock market. She could never turn away a stray cat or a game of Rummikub. She was fiercely proud of her two doctor daughters. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
