Delores Barnes, 71, of Dunedin, born in Enid, OK, to Rev Doug & Lucille Friesen, she came here in 1973 from Corpus Christie, TX. She was a dental hygienist for over 27 years for Dr. Haydon Allen. She is a longtime member of Clearwater First Assembly of God. Delores believed in prayer. It was common for Dennis to awake at night and hear Delores interceding and calling the names of family and friends who needed prayer. She had a “prayer board” that she put pictures on to remind her to pray. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren called her “Bah” because that’s the way Ashlynne, her first grandchild, said it and it stuck. She is survived by Dennis, her husband of 51 years, her 3 sons, Cory, Plano, TX, Kelly of Dunedin, FL, and Cody, Birmingham, AL. She is survived by 7 GC, Ashlynne, Tehya, Jasper, Finney, Wyatt, Adeline, Miles and one great grand daughter, Evelyn. Family will receive friends at 10:30am, Saturday, January 23 at Clearwater First Assembly of God. Services will start at 11AM.

DeDe was the aunt of my best friend, Pam. She was only a few years older than Pam and me, so she was more like a big sister to Pam. She always treated me like family. She and Dennis opened their home to me when I tagged along on one of Pam’s visits to them in Dunedin. She was a loving, funny person who was beautiful inside and out. She had such a big, caring heart, which I saw demonstrated when her brother-in-law, Don, was living his last moments, and taking care of her sister, Dovie, when Alzheimer’s set in. I’m so glad to have met her. My heartfelt sympathy to Dennis and their family.
So sorry for your loss but heaven is rejoicing that she has come home. May God bring peace and comfort to all friends and family at this time.
Dennis and family…. We are so sad regarding Delores passing. But we know she is in a better place as do you. We will remember her as a quiet person that spoke wisdom when it was required. Gave encouraging words to those around her. Prayers for you and your family as you walk through this time.
Such a precious lady. Full of gods love I am so sorry dennis
Dennis and family,
As your pastors for many years at Dunedin A/G, we have a lot of good memories of you and Delores and your children when they were young. Delores knew what it was like to be a PK and it was not always easy for her but we’re thankful that she allowed us to be a part of her life. Darla especially remembers when she took her shopping one day and bought her a beautiful outfit – and the fun they had being pregnant at the same time with their 3rd child. You are no longer suffering Delores but you are healed and we look forward to seeing you again on the other side💕
