She is survived and loved by her 2 sisters Eleni Papadopoulos and Maria Anastasopoulos. Demetra had 2 brothers, Anthony Demetroulias, and Socrates Demetroulias who have passed away.  Demetra married Michael Mechas on March 15, 1964.  Demetra and Michael have 3 children, John Michael Mechas (52), Anthony Michael Mechas (47), and Venetia Aphrodite Peters-Demetriou (a.k.a. Demetra was a beautiful person inside and out.  Demetra loved her family, Kalamata, Greece, and Clearwater, Florida.  Our Mom’s passion was her family, her church, religion, faith, and Greek heritage.  Her other passions were her trips to Clearwater Beach, the Greek dances, picnics, and festivals, parks, and cooking. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Demetra was a strong, compassionate, loving, caring, beautiful person.  Demetra was an amazing wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.  Demetra will be deeply missed for our entire lives.
