Dennis Charles Madison, Sr.

Dennis C. Madison passed quietly on 8/11/2022 at 6:20 AM in Pinellas Park FL at the age of 78.

The last years of his life he battled dementia along with COPD and leukemia. And even while dealing with all these ailments he still kept a good disposition, and a lot had to do with care given to him by his loving wife Shirly I. Madison.

Dennis was born to Elmer J. and Olive L. Madison on 2/15/1944 in Yonkers NY.

He married Shirley I. Madison on 9/2/1967 at Dayspring Presbyterian Church in Yonkers NY. Together they shared almost 55 years of a loving marriage.

Dennis is survived by his wife Shirley I. Madison, son(s) Dennis C. Madison Jr; Sean E. Madison; James E. Madison, sister Ruth Cetrone, and grandchildren Claire E. Madison; Sebastian Scott; Damien Madison.

Those preceding him in passing are his daughter Denise R. Madison, brother Gerald E. Madison, sister Galye Martin.

Dennis served 4 years in the Airforce as a loadmaster during the Vietnam war. After his honorable discharge he became a truck driver for most of his adult life and closer to his retirement he became a Security Guard. And on top of all this he was a member of the American Legion (Post 125) for the past 22 years. As a member he held several positions, Commander, Cook, Honor Guard, and more. While serving the American Legion he was involved in many charitable events / activities over the 22 years he served them.

Special thank you to all his close friends at Post 125, their support and kind words have been a source of strength and remembrance. Also thank you to our funeral home (Veterans Funeral Care), for your kindness, and hand holding through our loss, words can not express.

Dennis was a loving husband, father, friend, and patriot, and we will all miss him. I love you and miss you dad, and I can see you in heaven on a small boat on a lake fishing in the quiet early hours of the morning.

Dennis’ funeral ceremony will be held at Bay Pines National Cemetery on Aug 25 at 11:00 AM.
