Donald George Heselton, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital North in Lutz, Florida. Born on November 30, 1930, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, Donald lived a rich and fulfilling life that spanned nearly 95 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll H. and Ruth B. (Wightman) Heselton, and his brother, Laurence Heselton. Donald was a devoted family man who cherished his time with loved ones. He is survived by his beloved wife, Trudy Heselton; his daughter, Susan Heselton; his son, Steven Heselton; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Donald dedicated 20 honorable years of service to the United States Air Force, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8). His time in the military took him on numerous adventures. After his distinguished military career, he transitioned into a second retirement from Sears, where he devoted another 20 years of service.
Throughout his life, Donald was an avid traveler, enjoying many road trips in their motorhome. He loved boating and water skiing, spending countless sunny days on the water. However, nothing brought him more joy than tending to the beautiful yard at their home by the lake, a serene retreat after years of travel and adventure with the Air Force.
Donald and Trudy shared a loving partnership, having married on June 28, 1987, in Odessa, Florida. Their marriage was a testament to love and companionship, filled with shared laughter and cherished moments.
A funeral service to honor Donald’s life will be held on July 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM at All Saints Lutheran Church, located at 5315 Van Dyke Rd., Lutz, FL 33558. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating the life of a remarkable man who touched the lives of many.
Donald will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513 with Military Honors at 12:30 PM on Monday July 14, 2025.
Donald George Heselton will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his kindness, dedication to family, and the countless memories he created throughout his life. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
