Donald Owen Norem, 89, entered the Lord’s presence on December 24, 2020. He was born on September 29, 1931 and was the youngest of 6 children. Don was a lifelong resident of Des Moines, IA and a seasonal resident of Pinellas Park, FL.
Don is survived by his children Chris (Connie) Norem, Kathy (Dan) Gartin, Toni (Scott) Bright and a foster daughter Beverly (Perry) Wolff, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Shirley, his beloved wife and sweetie of 68 years.
Don was a well-respected small business owner. By trade he was an independent flooring contractor. He was proud to have the opportunity to share that knowledge and work alongside his son, Chris. Don also owned and operated East End Locker Service with his wife, Shirley, for many years.
He was active at Fellowship Baptist Church in Des Moines and attended Starkey Road Baptist in FL. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, and golfing. Love for his personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, motivated him to volunteer at his favorite church organizations.

So sorry to hear about Don’s passing. I remember the trip to Hawaii Don, Shirley , my Mom and Dad took. I still have the little hula statue they bought for a souvenir.Hugs to all. RIP DON.
Don and Shirley were such sweet people. Many years ago we went to church with them. Don also helped us when we needed help with flooring and countertop. We have never forgot them.
