Donald Thomas Delay Veteran Obituary

Donald Thomas Delay, 67, S/SGT-USAF-Retired-Vietnam War Veteran of Seminole, Florida funeral service is 9:15 Am, Friday, March 27, 2015 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, Bay Pines, Florida with the United States Air Force Honor Guard and the Pinellas County Military Honor Guard, officiating.

A native Tacoma, Washington and a local resident since 1989 when he moved here from Rapid City, South Dakota.  He was born on November 12, 1947n Tacoma, Washington and passed away on March 10, 2015 at home under Hospice Care.   Don was a retired Security Police Supervisor having served our nation for over 20 years. He was a Christian and served during the Vietnam War.  During his career, he was awarded the NCO Professional Military Graduate Ribbon; Small Arms Expert Pistol/Rifle; USAF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters; National Service Defense Service Medal; USAF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster; USAF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon; USAF Training Ribbon; USAF Outstanding Unit Award with Combat Valor and 4 Oak Leaf Clusters; USAF Good Conduct Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters.  He graduated from NCO Leadership School; Security Police Combat Preparedness Course; Patrol Dog Handler Course; Patrol Dog Handler Supervisor Course; OJT Manager/Supervisors Course;  Combat Skills/Terrorist Threat Training; Base and Installation Security Systems Course; Law Enforcement Supervisors Course; Technical Training Instructors Course; Test and Measurements Course; Patrol Dog Explosives Detection Course and the Patrol Dog Drug Detection Course.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Inez (Krick) Delay and is  survived by his loving family: his wife, Donna (Hash)Delay of Seminole, Florida; a son, Donald T. Delay Jr. and his wife, Amanda of St Petersburg, Florida; a daughter, Angel Tippit of Sanford, North Carolina;  a brother, Ronald Delay and his wife, Betty of Bellingham, Washington; a half brother, Kerry Delay and his wife, Linda of Seattle, Washington; two grandchildren:  Alicia Tippit and Anthony Tippit and a great grandchild, Aleena McIntosh.

Please assemble at the cemetery between 8:45 Am and service time on the day of the service.
