Doris M. Jones, 71, of Tampa passed away December 28, 2015 after a long illness.
Doris was born January 30, 1944 in Coral Springs, Florida, a daughter of the late William E. Smith and Martina Burch Smith.
She started her career in nursing in the United States Air Force in Miami after her discharge, she became a home health nurse in New York.
Her hobbies included ceramics, reading and playing cards.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, Norman E. Jones of Tampa; one son, Steven Goldstein and his wife, Sondra; one daughter, Michelle Goldstein; two grandchildren, Sydney Goldstein and Jacob Goldstein. She is also survived by brothers, Greg Smith and his wife, Cathy of Chapel Hill NC; Tracy Smith of Bismarck, ND, and sisters, Mary Sweeney and her husband, Glenn of St.Petersburg; Sheila Bilow and her husband, Roger of Salt Lake City, UT; and Helen King of St. Petersburg, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her family remembers her as a gentle soul and very compassionate. She was a loving, caring individual who will be missed.
Internment will be held on Monday, Februaury 8, 2016 at 10:45 am at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
