On December 28, 2022, Douglas Dowling, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
uncle, and friend was united with his beloved wife Carol who preceded him in death January 22,
2022. His parents, Virginia and Charles Dowling, sister, Carol Lowerre, brother-in-law Albert
Lowerre, and daughter-in-law Julie Dowling also predeceased him.
Doug is survived by his sons Kurt, Scott (Lory), and Brian (Annette), grandchildren Thomas
(Chelsea), Brittany Pullen (Matthew), Dustin (Kaylie), Kayla (Nick), Bradley (Dana), Kaydee,
Brandi Bartsch (Brandon), and Logan (Elizabeth), eleven great-grandchildren, niece Susan, and
nephews Kenny and Keith Lowerre.
Doug was born October 23, 1937, in Amityville, NY. His first job was with the Long Island
Expressway. He then moved on to apply his mechanical talents to repairing airplanes with
Grumman Corporation. Doug married the love of his life, Carol, in 1959. The couple moved to
Miami in 1960 where he owned and operated a gas station until returning to Grumman and later
working as a pest control technician.
The couple relocated to Inverness, Florida in 1988 where Doug would successfully establish
Doug Dowling’s Transportation. Most recently, Doug and Carol enjoyed faithfully attending
Redemption Point Assembly of God where his grandson Bradley is the Worship Pastor.
Doug’s children and grandchildren were his pride and they all find peace knowing he is with
his Savior now.

As a former scout in troop 50 which Doug was the scoutmaster of I can’t express how much I learned from Doug he was a very very good man and I hope to meet him one day again rest in peace always Doug darling
