Kieffer, Dwight Douglas, 75, loving husband and father of Largo, Florida passed away on January 22, 2021. Dwight was born on December 15, 1945 in Shelby, Ohio, son of Eugene (Dudley) Kieffer and Evelyn Boggs. He moved to Clearwater in 1956, attended Clearwater High School and served in the US Air Force from 1964-68. He worked as Special Service Business Technician from 1970-99 for General Telephone Company until his retirement. On April 1, 1972, he married Rose Hayden and they raised two children, Shawn and Michelle.
He enjoyed simple pleasures; such as spending time with his family, friends and grand dogs, Tiny and Tito. He loved food, woodworking, tinkering at his workbench and watching the financial network. He was Mr. Fix-it, a conversationalist and known for his quick wit, contagious laugh, and kind and compassionate spirit.
Dwight was preceded in death by his father, Dudley, and his mother, Evelyn. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Rose, his two children, Shawn Kieffer (Bradshaw Wish) and Michelle Kieffer (Dina Roubal), his brother William Kieffer (Susan), his two sisters, Suzanne Dusty Smith (Robert) and Diane Dusty Bauman, his father-in-law, Richard Hayden, two sister-in-laws, Sandra DeLoach (Stewart) and Renee Hayden, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dwight will be deeply missed by family, friends and others who knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 5th at 3:00 pm at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd., St. Petersburg, FL 33708.
